Where to buy American makeup when you live Europe

usa makeup in europe

I first got into makeup when I was in high school when the first KIKO Milano store opened somewhat close to me. I live in Italy and not even drugstore makeup was reachable nor cheap at the time. I mean, we’re talking 7 years ago, so not that long but apparently wearing makeup was a foreign concept in my country.

About 4 years ago I started discovering the whole Instagram makeup scene and needless to say I felt left behind. I can’t even describe the struggle that I went through to find Europe-based online shops that sold that brands that I admired so much.

The number of times I was tempted to order straight from the US is countless, but the thought of extra import taxes and months of wait managed to stop me. Obviously, I wasn’t the only one that felt this way because the list of products accessible to us Europeans is slowly expanding.

As of today, I made dozens of online orders, from a few different stores. So without further ado, here are the websites I have discovered over the years and that I think have the best product range and I trust the most!usa makeup in europe

Prices: You will find some items cheaper somewhere else.

Sales: I hardly ever get notified for coupon codes from their newsletter. Their Outlet section is pretty disappointing for me as it’s mostly discontinued products, from what I’ve seen. They do offer 10% on your birthday if you register.

Shipping: Worldwide from the UK. Different options and prices that depend on the country to ship to. The cheapest take longer than the most expensive, you’re free to choose which one you prefer. Free shipping starts for orders of 15£ (18€) and above, for the cheapest slowest option.

New Releases: They seem to get new releases pretty quickly (within a couple of weeks) for the most part, but depends on the brand.

Notable Brands: Ardell, Anastasia Beverly Hills, BH Cosmetics, Coloured Raine, Cover FX, Dose of Colors, Gerard Cosmetics, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Kevyn Aucoin, L.A. Girl, LASplash, Lilly Lashes, Makeup Geek, Mario Badescu, Morphe, Natasha Denona, OCC, Ofra, OUAI, PUR, RCMA, Sigma Beauty, Sugarpill Cosmetics, Viseart, Violet Voss.

Prices: Fair. Equal, if not cheaper, than other places.

Sales: Never seen anything on sale nor a coupon code.

Shipping: From the UK to most countries (more on their shipping page). Only one option for international, prices depending on the country to ship to. Otherwise free for big orders (50£/60£/80£).

New Releases: Within a couple of weeks of the US release, although it always depends on the brand.

Notable Brands: Beauty Bakerie, Kevyn Aucoin (does not ship outside the UK), LASplash, Lime Crime, OCC, RCMA, Real Techniques, Sigma Beauty, Sugarpill Cosmetics, Viseart.usa makeup in europe

Prices: Always the cheapest option even when there’s not a sale.

Sales: They always have special offers on sales season, mostly 3×2. If you register you get a coupon code for your birthday. There’s always some items on sale, even new products.

Shipping: Worldwide from Spain. Their shipping page is very confusing, so I’m not even going to pretend that I understand it. But overall, the heavier the order, the more expensive shipping will be. To ship to Italy I get free shipping for over 50€, it always takes a lot less than what they estimate.

New Releases: From a couple of weeks to a couple of months after the official release.

Notable Brands: Ardell, Ecotools, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, L.A. Girl, LASplash, Milani, NYX, Ofra, Physicians Formula, Real Techniques, The Balm, Wet n Wild.

Prices: The most expensive out of all these sites, but it’s the only retailer for a lot of brands.

Sales: Coupon code for 15% off at signup. Other discounts occasionally through their newsletter.

Shipping: Worldwide from the UK, free for all orders above 50£. Option for standard or priority for all countries.

New Releases: It seems like they get new releases quicker than other stores that carry the same brands.

Notable Brands: Anastasia Beverly Hills, Beauty Bakerie, BECCA, Huda Beauty, Jouer Cosmetics, Kevyn Aucoin, Lime Crime, Laura Geller, Lipstick Queen, Loving Tan, Morphe, NYX, Nurse Jamie, Nudestix, OUAI, Sigma Beauty, Sunday Riley, Violet Voss.
