Two From Fenty Beauty: Flyliner and Match Stix

Two From Fenty Beauty: Flyliner and Match Stix Mocha

I was casually walking past Sephora the other day. And by “casually walking past” I mean drove over 1h specifically to get there. And even though I had no intention of getting anything besides things on sale (Italian Sephora actually has very good deals, surprisingly) I spent most of my time there in front of the Fenty Beauty counter.

To be honest Fenty products are not amongst those that I see on Trendmood and immediately think I have to have it. If anything, I never really care too much for them. But something happens when I’m in Sephora and I end up picking products I wouldn’t otherwise buy online.

Fenty Beauty Flyliner

The Fenty Beauty Flyliner just recently came out and I haven’t seen it much around, so I decided to see for myself. I absolutely hate felt tip liners so instant points to this one for having a brush applicator. As predicted I love this applicator, it’s so precise and it disperses the right amount of product. I didn’t have any problem applying. I haven’t had practice with liner in months, and the fact that I could get it perfectly speaks a lot on the quality of the product (trust me it doesn’t happen often even with everyday practice). The formula applies with perfect opacity, but if overlayered doesn’t crackle. It is not completely matte, though. That doesn’t really bother me, but I know some people mind.

Sounds amazing, right? Right… After a full day out I looked in the mirror and it all transferred all over the lid. I asked the people that were with me and they told me they thought I was trying a new eyeshadow trend (story of my life). I really don’t know if I should be amused or offended. To be fair, I blame this on the insane temperatures. I really don’t think the result would have been the same if it wasn’t so hot. But safe to say I won’t be picking this up again until September.

Fenty Beauty Match Stick

One product is much more lasting, even if it feels like I’m burning in hell, is the Fenty Beauty Match Stix. I got the shade Mocha, to use as a contour stick. Have to say, it’s dryer than I expected. I thought it would be creamier but I’m very happy with this consistency, even though I usually stay away from anything dry and matte.

This formula is a really good compromise because it blends as well as something creamier, but as soon as it dries it stays put. I don’t tend to have super dry patches on my cheek area, so it looks great even if it’s matte. But I don’t think I’ll use a lighter shade for a concealer. I feel it would only emphasize the extra dryness that I have in the undereye and nose area. But I would really like blush options, I will be all over those.
