The Grunge Makeup Edit

grunge makeup edit

Maybe because I was born in the 90s, maybe just because I like it. Grunge is my favourite style, especially for makeup. The messy I tried but really didn’t eye and the brown lips just speak to me. So today, I decided to gather my favourite products to achieve this look!

Caterpillar Brows

I enjoy thick messy brows with any look, but especially in a grunge look. To those who have been blessed with perfect full brows just a clear gel would be sufficient. But those who haven’t can fake it with a little help from Benefit’s KaBrow Brow Pomade. To top it all and give that full natural look I never fail to use essence’s make me brow (which is an amazing dupe for Benefit’s Gimme Brow) as it contains little fibers that help to build up thickness.

Red Eyes

The good kind. I truly have a weakness for red eyeshadow. My two favourite palettes are in fact the Modern Renaissance by Anastasia Beverly Hills and the New-trals vs Neutrals by MakeUp Revolution. Both are great alternatives at a very different price point, but great quality nonetheless.

Brown Lips

The brown lipsticks are probably my favourite part of this style. An obvious choice is the very appropriately named Grunge by Colourpop. This is the first lippie stix I’ve ever tried and it was love at first swatch. A similar option is Chestnut by KIKO, which is a favourite formula of mine as well. Another great option is Dubai Soft Matte Lip by NYX, that unlike the previous two doesn’t have red undertones and is a true brown. The Bite Amuse Bouche in Chai is a more wearable one, still in the brown family but a lot lighter and with a mauve undertone.
