The Blush Edit

blush edit

Blush is probably the most overlooked item in the beauty industry as far as I can see. It was only until I was forced to cut down the morning makeup time that I realized which products I really can’t go without. And blush is one of the top ones.

I have to admit, it is the one item that looks the most unappealing and boring on the pan. But once it is on my face I can’t help to love the results. From all the different formulas I tried, I rounded up to 5 (technically 6, actually) formulas I am absolutely obsessed.

Essence – satin touch blush and matt touch blush

I can’t stress this enough, but these blushes are hands down the best essence product. Unfortunately, the colour selection is really small (3 for the matt formula and 3 for the satin). But other than that these blushes are very pigmented and very long lasting. Since they are so pigmented a light hand is necessary, or they might be overpowering. There is no huge difference between the two formulas, but a slight sheen in the satin one. And the matt one obviously has none.

Benefit Blushes (Galifornia and Rockateur)

These blushes are much more foolproof, as they’re not as pigmented and there’s no immediate risk of over application. Galifornia has been my go to this summer as it’s a beautiful coral with a golden glow. Rockateur is a rose gold, also with a slight sheen to it, giving that glow from within look to the cheeks. I could be wearing these all day at work and when most of my face is gone, these look as fresh as just applied.

Kiko Shade Fusion Trio Blush

Let’s overlook the fact that Kiko tries to sell this as a trio, as picking up a single shade is impossible with a blush brush. Regardless each trio looks gorgeous as one blush. I love this for how buildable they are, giving me the chance to control the intensity, still without wasting too much time and product. It’s not as long lasting as the others but doesn’t get patchy while it evenly fades away with time. Not that it makes the product any better, but the packaging is amazing too.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes

I’ve been hearing about these ones for such a long time and when I finally made my trip to the US I wasn’t disappointed. They are so smooth and you can feel and see the quality of this product the instant it touches the skin. It is one very pigmented side of the spectrum for being a blush, so a little goes a long way. And a long day. The shade selection is one of the best I’ve seen, so there seems to be something for everyone.

Sleek MakeUp Blushes

I only tried this one because it was said to be an exact dupe for Nars’ Orgasm Blush. I’m glad I did because I found yet another drugstore quality product. Even though the shade Rose Gold has glitter in it, it doesn’t appear chunky or too glittery. Once again, a little goes a long way as they’re pigmented enough. I’ve owned this for ever and it still looks brand new. Even though all the use I’ve been getting out of it. I feel like this is a drier formula next to the others but still doesn’t have negative results on my dry skin. The shade selection is very nice. It actually looks like there are a lot of shades more suited for darker skin tones, which I know are harder to find.

Are you obsessed with blush just as much as I am?
