And just like that, another year is gone. 2017 was both one of my worst years and best. I finally graduated Uni and got a stable job, but in between, depression was at an all-time high. I did not accomplish everything I wanted to, but instead of beating myself for it, I’m just going to focus on what I did manage to do. And I’m taking today as a chance for a fresh start and I’m more determined than ever on working on myself. They say to put it into the universe, right? So here are my 2018 goals.
Be Healthy and Lose Weight
I know everyone, including myself, says this every year. Only to give up the gym membership a week later. But this time I have a different approach. I love food, I always have, depriving myself will only make things worse. Instead, I’m going to take this one day at a time. For the last months of 2017 I tried adopting a healthier take on my habits. Probably not the healthiest I could be, but better than before. The goal is to change my lifestyle and I will never achieve that if I force it. A little bit at the time and I will get there.
Makeup has been my main focus for a while now. But in 2017 between preparing for finals and my thesis and getting a new job I failed to practice as much as I wanted to. I have been trying many times to post my looks here and on Instagram, only to be so disappointed in them that they never see the light of day. So if I practice as much as possible, maybe one day I’ll be able to do that.
I don’t think I’ll ever be happy about my reading unless I can spend all day with a book every day. But I know what I did these past 5 years isn’t nearly enough. I just enjoy books too much and it makes me so sad that it’s the thing that I keep postponing, so no more.
Save Money and Move Out
This is the year I’m going to have a steady income so I’ll finally be able to live alone. I did get a little too happy with paychecks in the past, but it’s time to save up. I just can’t wait to have a place on my own and decorate it to my taste. I will finally be able to store my clothes in a decent closet and have a space dedicated to photography.
I’m so excited to see what the new year has in store for me!
